Boiler is on but no heating

If your boiler works but the radiators are not heating up and there is no heating, then the likely cause could be a faulty boiler pump or your central heating controls. If your boiler works but the radiators are cold, check that the thermostat or timer is working correctly.

If some of your radiators are warm and others are not it usually indicates that there is air in the system or there is a stuck valve within that radiator, you could try bleeding the radiator by slightly loosening the screw and letting bleed from the system until you see drops of water (use a rag to protect your hands from potential hot water) then tighten the screw.

make sure the TRV is turned on and up, Believe it or not, the most common cause for a thermostatic radiator valve to not be working correctly is because it has been set to the wrong number or turned off entirely.

If setting the timer on the boiler still isn’t working, we also recommend resetting the boiler itself – what those in the industry refer to as a “soft reset”. Find the power switch on your boiler to turn it off and wait for around sixty seconds before switching it back on at the wall.
